CDS Logistics & Home Services is seeking a dynamic warehouse professional to lead the Break Bulk (Cabinets Receiving) team in our Baltimore facility. The Lead will oversee daily productivity, coach direct reports, and ensure safety and quality standards are met across the shift.

The role focuses on team leadership, task delegation, and timely completion of inbound loads, with daily stand-ups and Lean initiatives to drive continuous improvement. Day shift, full-time, hourly non-exempt position.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of warehousing experience.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage BB2 crew and their daily production activities in accordance with CDS’ SOP’s under the direction of the Manager and Supervisor.
  • Follow, support, and set standards, goals, and processes.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the Breakbulk inbound schedule.
  • Develop team knowledge surrounding Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Coach and develop direct reports SOP knowledge and leadership competencies.
  • Assist in keeping the inbound calendar updated.

About the Job

CDS Logistics & Home Services is seeking a dynamic warehouse professional to assist in managing the Break Bulk (Cabinets Receiving) team in a leading final mile logistics company. The Lead position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the team’s daily productivity, reporting directly to the Assistant Warehouse Manager. Our primary goal is to ensure excellent operational and production standards are met and maintained.

This applies to all tasks from sweeping the floor to successfully and accurately completing a full inbound load of product to managing our performance metrics and lean initiative goals.

Break Bulk Lead

In this role you will work in the Baltimore Warehouse facility, supporting the daily operations of our business through team leadership, coaching & development of direct reports and accurate completion of daily deliverables. You can anticipate this role to focus on team leadership and task delegation, meeting quality and quantity of daily production requirements, and lean management activities within your scope of the warehouse.

Essential Job Functions
  • Manage BB2 crew and their daily production activities in accordance with CDS’ SOP’s under the direction of the Manager and Supervisor.
  • Follow, support, and set standards, goals, and processes.
  • Assist in checking and answering emails.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the Breakbulk inbound schedule.
  • Assist in the Standardization of processes and Audit procedures.
  • Assist in the individual review process for direct reports.
  • Assist in the verbal and written discipline process of subordinates.
  • Assist and support your teams needs for staffing. This includes interviewing potential. candidates and making hiring decisions.
  • Set up training and a training outline for employee onboarding.
  • Assist and support Forklift and equipment training and certification.
  • Assist, support, and conduct Product handling / documentation certification.
  • Manage all new hire onboarding and training processes, timelines, and goals.
  • Audit the training processes and training documentation.
  • Develop team knowledge surrounding Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Coach and develop direct reports SOP knowledge and leadership competencies.
  • Assist in keeping the inbound calendar updated.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, ensure that paperwork is completed and provided with in an appropriate time frame
  • Check and ensure that all inbound paperwork has been properly completed and items have been tagged and located before the paperwork is turned into Customer service.
  • Assist in customer calls when needed.
  • Assist in audit processes and procedures
  • Collect and document measure metrics.
  • Assist and support product returns and re-receive processes.
  • Assist and support “Board” meetings with warehouse teams.
  • Lead your team in daily team meetings.
  • Participate and support Gemba walks with warehouse teams no less than weekly.
  • Complete spreadsheets and track performance data for your crew.
  • Manage facility cleanliness, safety, and security.
  • Complete other value-added projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of warehousing experience.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Highly proficient with RF Scanners
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 Years of warehousing experience.
  • Team lead/leadership experience.
  • Experience receiving and palletizing bulk products.
  • Experience working for a last mile delivery company.
  • Experience on a double reach truck.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position will be responsible for the management of Break Bulk employees. This position will manage the daily production, training, and personnel management, including but not limited to, coaching, development, and disciplinary actions.
