Job summary

Top Hat Engineering is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support the installation, testing, and commissioning of automated warehouse solutions. You will work hands-on across controls, networking, and software to bring systems from installation to customer operation.

The role involves extensive travel across the United States, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, performing system validation, and ensuring safety and reliability during commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Automation Engineering or closely related field.
• 1–3 years in engineering, automation, controls, manufacturing, systems integration, commissioning, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, testing, commissioning, and readiness of automated solutions at customer sites.
• Execute commissioning procedures and verify functionality of equipment, controls, software, and networked devices.
• Perform system integration testing across conveyors, PLCs, HMIs, WCS, scanners, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues by analyzing alarms, software, and network logs; identify root causes.
• Collaborate with Controls, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, and other teams to resolve integration issues.
• Document test results, resolutions, and system changes clearly.
