Job Summary:

Pick and process UPS/Fed Ex/LTL orders within prescribed time lines by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the essential functions, physical demands, or work environment.

Processes orders on FEDEX Powership, UPS online, and AS400 systems.

Reviews the batch order report on AS400 system to check open orders for LTL, interplant, and customer pick ups in order to schedule and prioritize work.

Correlates with office personnel for shipment of orders or delivery of customer orders.

Utilizes batch order report to consolidate shipments to customer, minimizing shipping costs.

Assists driver in loading product for delivery to terminal.

Utilizes the AS400 system to determine location and quantity available and picks orders as needed from inventory. Notifies inventory control of low quantities available to ensure they are added to production schedule avoiding back orders.

Operates Raymond Order Picker in performing assigned duties.

Utilizes UPS shipping system to process necessary shipping documents for the order. Labels and packages orders for shipment.

Maintains inventory of labels, boxes, and supplies necessary for processing. Notifies supervisor to request additional supplies.

Breaks down orders and picks pipe, mufflers and accessories for shipment.

Coordinates shipments with other shifts.

Operates computerized scales/equipment and processes packages for shipment.

Opens and closes scales at the beginning and end of respective work periods.

Visually inspects product where appropriate for quality defects. Performs minor rework on product as needed.

Ensures that powered industrial vehicle (order picker) used is in good operating condition. Completes and documents daily safety check sheet. Notifies supervisor of deficiencies.

Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.

Communicates with customer service to convey the status of particular shipments.

Processes daily orders for Canadian courier shipments.

Receives incoming shipments and distributes to various departments.

Ships department and personal packages per request.

Abides by all safety rules and regulations.

Completes annual review of OSHA required safety training as assigned by supervisor.

Reports and safety malfunctions, near hits, and/or injuries to supervisor immediately.

Assists others in department as assigned.

Education/ Experience/ Skills:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications.

PC literate.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
