Job summary

Spartan Surfaces is seeking a dependable Warehouse Associate to support our Sparrows Point, MD facility. This role handles receiving, storage, picking, and staging of flooring materials to keep warehouse operations smooth and orders moving on time.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, reach truck experience, forklift certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Overtime may be required to meet shipping volumes and business needs.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Warehouse Associate to support our Sparrows Point, MD facility. This role is responsible for the accurate receiving, storage, picking, and staging of flooring materials to keep our warehouse running smoothly and our customers' orders moving on time.

The Warehouse Associate works as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment, handling product carefully and efficiently while maintaining a safe and organized workspace. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with teammates, and shows up ready to contribute every day.

What You'll Do

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments of flooring materials for accuracy and condition
• Stock, organize, and maintain inventory in designated warehouse locations
• Pick and stage orders accurately for delivery or customer pickup
• Load outbound shipments safely and in accordance with delivery requirements
• Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment at all times
• Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory audits as needed
• Communicate with team members, drivers, and operations staff to coordinate order flow and resolve discrepancies
• Follow all company safety policies, warehouse procedures, and relevant regulations
• Support the team across warehouse functions as business needs require
• Work overtime when needed to support shipping volume or business needs

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Valid Driver's License (required)
• Reach truck experience (required)
• Prior warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience preferred
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification required
• Ability to read and interpret packing lists, shipping documents, and inventory records
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently throughout the shift
• Team-player mentality with a positive, can-do attitude
• Comfortable working in a physical, fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills for inventory or order management systems a plus
• Must be able to pass required background check and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry flooring materials and related products up to 50 lbs. regularly; heavier items with assistance or equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the full workday
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment throughout the shift

Schedule & Overtime

This role is scheduled on-site Monday through Friday, 8:00-5:00 PM , with flexibility required based on shipping volume and business needs. Overtime may be required to support inbound or outbound volume. No regular weekend schedule is expected.
