Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Reno, NV seeks a Warehouse Associate II to support operations with hands-on material handling, packing, and inventory tasks.

You will operate MHE (forklifts, pallet jacks), ensure safety procedures, and process returns and stock requests while maintaining accuracy during a Monday–Friday 2pm–10pm shift. Minimum 18+ with forklift cert preferred.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with up to 1 year of warehouse experience or military equivalent.
• Ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.
• Certified to drive a forklift and OSHA knowledge.
• Ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds and wear required safety gear.
• Willingness to work flexible days and hours and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Prepare goods and materials for shipment with packing slips and basic inventory tasks.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and handcarts to load/unload materials.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures (dock doors, wheel chocks).
• Process stock requests, orders and returns using inventory/billing systems.
• Inspect orders for completeness and damage; handle returns to vendors.
• Receive, issue and store supplies; verify counts and conditions.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare goods and materials to be shipped along with their corresponding packing slips; perform basic inventory maintenance
• Use lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas
• Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures (e.g. dock doors are locked, wheel chocks utilization)
• Process material stock requests, orders, and returns using inventory and billing systems necessary for installation
• Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE), such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and handcarts, to load and unload vehicles; Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material within and outside designated areas
• Handle defective, discontinued, or recalled goods; destroy returned goods as appropriate
• Perform check-ins and check-outs; verify order completeness and inspect for damage
• Review the daily processing of goods received as returns and the return of goods to vendors; ensure the timely and accurate processing of all returns
• Receive, issue, and store supplies and equipment; process customer turn-ins; inspect, verify, and count supplies and equipment for accuracy, overall condition, and accountability

Minimum Qualifications

• 18 years of age with up to 1 year of experience in a warehouse setting and/or military equivalent experience
• Ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• Certified to drive a forklift
• OSHA knowledge
• Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 100 pounds)
• Ability to wear appropriate work attire (bump cap, footwear, gloves, safety vests)
• Willingness to work flexible workdays and hours
• Ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 2-3 years of experience

Compensation

The expected starting pay for this position is between $16.25/hr - $20.30/hr. This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship. Compensation: Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
