Job summary

SRS Building Products - Elgin is hiring a Warehouse Associate to manage receiving, stocking, and distribution of materials in a fast-paced warehouse. You will log and store items, load outbound shipments, and maintain a safe, organized environment.

The role requires forklift operation, inventory control skills, and adherence to safety standards. Overtime during peak seasons is possible; bilingual candidates are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in high-volume distribution environments.
• Proficient with inventory management software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Familiar with industry-specific software applications.
• Proficient in Spanish or another secondary language.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety.
• Conducted safety audits and training sessions.
• Adaptable to changing environments and challenges.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and math for inventory counts.
• Effective time management and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Receive, count, verify, and unload incoming orders, logging and storing materials per standards.
• Load outgoing orders onto trucks with proper handling and documentation.
• Maintain organized warehouse and yard, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Distribute materials to storage areas, rotate stock, and report discrepancies.
• Collaborate with team to foster a productive, team-first culture.
• Operate forklifts and other handling equipment safely and efficiently.
