Job summary

Staffmark Group in Smithfield, RI is hiring a Warehouse Assistant (Direct Hire) to support picking, packing, shipping, receiving and inventory handling, ensuring orders are completed safely and accurately.

The role pays $22.00–$27.00 per hour, with a shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. It requires at least 1 year of warehousing experience and current forklift certification; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience.
• Minimum 1 year of forklift experience with current forklift certification required.
• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Flooring industry experience preferred, including handling, cutting, or preparing flooring materials.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
• Load, unload, move, stage, and organize inventory within the warehouse.
• Pick, pack, process, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Cut flooring materials and package required installation accessories according to order specifications.
• Assemble and produce floating floor systems while maintaining quality standards.
• Label, stock, and store products on racks, shelves, and pallets using inventory procedures.
• Communicate inventory discrepancies or order changes to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Assist with cargo deliveries and warehouse logistics activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while supporting team productivity and customer satisfaction.
