Job summary

Owens & Minor Distribution Inc. is seeking a FULL TIME Equipment Operator at our New York distribution center.

The role involves performing warehouse tasks with minimal use of MHE, unloading inbound shipments, replenishment, and accurate picking/packing to meet customer specifications. Responsibilities include unloading, counting and receiving with RF/Voice Pick Technology, bulk picking, sortation, and loading for delivery.

Qualifications

• MUST HAVE MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
• RF and voice-pick tech are used for receiving and picking.
• Unloads, receives, and processes inbound shipments and replenishment.

Responsibilities

• Unloads pallets and cases from inbound trailers using pallet jack.
• Accurately counts, verifies, and receives product with RF/Voice Pick.
• Selects products and quantities per Vision Pick/ RF scanner and places in totes or pallets.
• Loads outbound products onto trucks per customer specs.

The anticipated pay rate for this position is: $20/hr + 8% and 10% shift differential where applicable

Monday - Friday: 1PM - 930PM

Job Description:

MUST HAVE MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED

• Performs warehouse tasks within the facility, primarily without the use of Material Handling Equipment (cherry picker, reach truck, double reach, sit down forklift, motorized pallet jack, etc.).
• Unloads, receives, and processes inbound shipments. Performs bin replenishment, moves product around the distribution center to ensure efficient processing, and prepares pick locations.
• Accurately picks, packs, sorts and loads outbound products in accordance with customer specifications.
• Ensures warehouse functions are completed safely, accurately, and on-time within company standards.

Core Responsibilities:

Receiving

• Unloads pallets and cases from inbound trailers and/or containers manually using the pallet jack.
• Accurately counts, verifies, and receives product using radio frequency (RF) equipment and/or Voice Pick Technology, documents variances.

Bulk picking

• Select products and quantities as directed by Vision Pick Technology and/or RF scanner and places in totes or on a pallet.
• Assist on the dock with scanning and loading the freight using electric riding pallet jack or manually load carts.

Sortation

• Prepares sortation area by setting up pallets and carts for product.
• Moves cartons and totes from conveyor belts and/or rollers and places on pallets and/or carts according to assigned batch.

Loading

• Uses RF scanner to ensure that totes, pallets, and carts are loaded correctly onto trucks for customer delivery.
• Uses pallet jack to load pallets.

General requirements for all functions

• Follows general sequencing and process procedures.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Follows safety policies and procedures and corrects or communicates hazards to management.
• Places incoming merchandise into inventory.
• Conducts physical inventories as required.
• Counts and performs basic math calculations.
