Job summary

City Paper Company in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Warehouse Associate for a full-time, on-site role based in downtown Birmingham. You will receive, unload, and verify shipments, and you will accurately pick, pack, and prepare outbound orders for delivery, while maintaining a clean, safe warehouse environment.

Daily duties include labeling, staging products, assisting with cycle counts, and coordinating with teammates to meet shipping timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Shipping & Receiving, including processing incoming and outgoing orders and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Experience with Packing and Unloading, ensuring products are handled carefully and prepared securely for storage or shipment.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment such as Forklift Operation and Pallet Jack, following all safety protocols.
• Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking, labeling, and order management systems.
• Ability to lift and move packages as required and stand or walk for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills to meet daily operational deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; prior warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is beneficial; relevant certifications in forklift operation or warehouse safety are a plus.
• Ability to drive a box truck and make deliveries

Responsibilities

• Organizing inventory, maintaining clean and safe warehouse areas, and using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in compliance with safety standards.

• Occasional lifting of boxes, operating warehouse machinery, and supporting other warehouse and logistics functions as needed.
• City Paper also has a weekly truck that delivers to local businesses around the Birmingham area.

Role Description

The Warehouse Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, AL. Business hours are Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:30PM
