Grand Canyon University seeks a CSLP student worker to support the Empower College Prep partnership in Phoenix. You will conduct campus walkthroughs, deliver detention notices, retrieve student cell phones, and supervise students during rounds.
The role requires current GCU enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program, minimum GPA as stated, and completion of FAFSA for eligibility. Hours are limited to 20 per week during the academic year, with possible summer work, ending June 30, 2027.
Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs. GCU maintains a partnership with Empower College Prep (ECP) located at 2411 W Colter Street Phoenix AZ 85001. ECP’s mission is to empower students to become curious learners, critical thinkers, and confident leaders prepared for college, career, and life. The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of ECP; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring). If eligible, CSLP student workers can work during summer (i.e., May – August). CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, “Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.” These services must be open and accessible to the community. As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents). Note: All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility and awarded FWS.

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment: Enrolled at GCU in a bachelor’s program or master’s program full-time during fall/spring or half-time during summer. Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student. Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
