Job summary

Crawford Electric Supply, part of the Sonepar group, is hiring a Warehouse Associate Back-up Driver for Mission, TX. This role supports on-time deliveries, loads and secures freight, and maintains accurate shipment records.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license meeting Crawford requirements.
• Ability to obtain and pass a DOT physical.
• Six months or more of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• PIT proficiency (reach truck, order picker, sit-down propane); current certification a plus.
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery and handling small parts.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensures good customer relations through on-time deliveries and professional conduct.
• Transport and deliver goods in a timely manner.
• Pick materials for orders, load materials, and manifest ship tickets.
• Safely secure loads and ensure loads are within vehicle weight limits.
• Verify the count and condition of freight.
• Prepare reports of overages, shortages, and damages as needed.
• Prepare receipts for load pickup or delivery.
• Collect payments for goods delivered and delivery charges.
• Maintain contact with management to receive delivery instructions.
• Fuel the truck and gather or restock materials needed to perform daily duties; complete tasks at end of day/shift.
• When there are no deliveries, perform warehouse duties and maintain clean work areas.
• Adhere to all processes and maintain quality control; no damaged product leaves or is accepted.

Vehicle Operation

• Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with DOT standards and regulations.
• Report any vehicle problems or defects.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required.
• Report vehicle accidents/incidents immediately to management.
• Maintain a truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies (tires, lights, brakes, fluids) and maintain a clean vehicle.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed.

Environment

• Long and varied hours may be required occasionally.
• Ability to participate in mandatory physical inventory.
• Ability to work in extreme hot or cold environments and dusty conditions.
