Job summary

Building Products Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Associate for the second shift in Sioux Falls, SD. You will support warehouse operations, pick and stage orders, load freight, and help maintain inventory accuracy.

This hands-on role requires safety focus and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. The position runs Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with opportunities to cross-train and grow within the warehouse.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete BPI's in-house forklift training and certification.
• Ability to learn and use warehouse scanning systems for inventory tracking and shipment loading.

• Ability to work in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
• Dependability and willingness to work the scheduled Monday-through-Friday second shift.

Responsibilities

• Pick products accurately for next-day deliveries and stage orders using warehouse scanning systems.
• Operate a forklift to load products and replenish warehouse stock.
• Load and secure products using banding, plastic wrap, or other materials to prevent damage during transportation.
• Use scanning systems to update inventory and shipment information in real time.
• Assist with inventory checks and cycle counts.
• Complete daily forklift inspections and report equipment or safety concerns.
• Follow safety procedures including forklift protocols and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist with warehouse upkeep.
• Replenish stock and support other warehouse functions as needed.
• Cross-train in different areas of the warehouse to support daily operations.

Position Overview

BPI is seeking a Warehouse Associate - 2nd Shift to support warehouse operations and prepare products for accurate, on-time delivery. In this hands-on role, you will pick and stage orders, load and secure freight, operate material-handling equipment, and help maintain accurate inventory.

This position is well suited to someone who works safely, pays close attention to detail, and enjoys contributing to a fast-paced team environment.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick products accurately for next-day deliveries and stage orders using warehouse scanning systems
• Operate a forklift to load products and replenish warehouse stock

• Use scanning systems to update inventory and shipment information in real time
• Assist with inventory checks and cycle counts

• Follow required safety procedures, including forklift protocols and personal protective equipment requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist with general warehouse upkeep
• Replenish stock and support other warehouse functions as needed
• Cross-train in different areas of the warehouse to support daily operations

Required: Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to complete BPI's in-house forklift training and certification

Preferred

• Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, shipping, or receiving environment
• Experience operating a forklift or other material-handling equipment
• Familiarity with order picking, staging, loading, stock replenishment, or inventory counts
• Experience using handheld scanners or warehouse inventory systems
• Experience securing freight with banding, plastic wrap, or similar materials

Physical Demands

• Ability to work at a steady pace and frequently lift 30-40 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 70 pounds
• Ability to perform the physical activities required in a warehouse and loading environment
• Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this role, candidates must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and physical function testing
