Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Jasper, TN is hiring a Warehouse Associate for the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 3pm–11pm). Base pay of $17.25/hour plus a $0.85/hour shift differential. Benefits start day one and 80 hours of vacation are included. Walk-in interviews weekly at 6AM–8AM CDT; duties include crating, pulling product, unloading trucks, and quality checks. Safety-focused team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 86 pounds on a continual basis and lift 87–100 lbs with assistance
• Mechanical aptitude helpful
• Basic knowledge of shipping process helpful

Responsibilities

• Assist with crating, pulling product, and unloading trucks
• Load loose cartons into trucks to ensure stability during shipment
• Collect wood product for crates construction and build crates from wood around cartons
• Repair or reseal damaged cartons and rebox product as needed
• Consolidate accessory and siding products on storage racks
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on motorized equipment
• Maintain accurate time cards and participate in plant safety programs

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Associate assists in the warehouse by crating, pulling product, and unloading trucks. Associate ensures that orders are filled accurately for customer satisfaction; ensures cartons shipped are structurally sound and suitable for sale by visually inspecting cartons, repairing and reboxing as needed.

• Assist with the following aspects of warehouse operation: crating, pulling product, and unloading trucks
• Load loose cartons into trucks to ensure stability during shipment
• Collect wood product for the set-up and construction of crates
• Build crates from wooden materials around cartons of product in preparation for shipment by flatbeds
• Repair or reseal damaged cartons, or rebox product when necessary
• Consolidate all accessory and siding products on storage racks when needed
• Perform daily preventive maintenance and safety checks on motorized equipment
• Perform warehouse maintenance and warehouse housekeeping
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required
• Attend scheduled staff meetings with the Distribution Supervisor, if necessary
• Perform basic duties of Warehouse Associate 2 at times, based upon ability and experience
• Maintain an accurate time card daily and calculate on a weekly basis
• Actively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on location

Qualifications

Experience

• No experience necessary; mechanical aptitude helpful

Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of shipping process helpful

Mental/Physical/Visual Demands

• Must have good eye/hand coordination, excellent manual dexterity including a skill to use hand and electrical tools, and an ability to read and comprehend numbers
• Ability to lift up to 86 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist and lift 87 to 100 lbs with assistance
• Must be detailed oriented, possess good communication skills, and interact well with others
• Must be able to separate product by profiling color

Working Conditions

• Warehouse environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and dust
• Position requires continual lifting, twisting and bending

Equipment/Tools Used

• Must be proficient in the use of a claw hammer, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic bander, and an electric skill saw
• Safety glasses and ear plugs must be utilized as instructed
• Must be willing to obtain a license to operate motorized equipment
• If applicable, may need to be certified to operate a crane

Safety

• Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Manuals
• Required to wear or use personal protective equipment as applicable and to immediately report unsafe working conditions
