Job summary

Dearing Compressor & Pump Co. is hiring a Warehouse Associate to receive, store, inspect, and distribute materials in a heavy industrial setting. You will work with ERP systems, verify accuracy, and support shipping and receiving operations.

Ideal candidates have warehouse experience, forklift skills, and a focus on quality and safety. This full-time role requires weekend availability and physical effort in an industrial environment with PPE in use.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of warehouse, material handling, or inventory experience.
• Forklift experience required; forklift certification preferred.
• Understanding of material identification, inventory control, and quality requirements.
• Able to maintain good attendance.
• Available to work weekends and overtime.
• Able to lift up to 50 lb and work in an industrial environment.
• Must pass a drug test.
• NetSuite ERP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receives and unloads inbound shipments.
• Verifies material identification, part numbers, quantities, and lot/heat numbers.
• Operates forklift, pallet jack, and related equipment to move material.
• Performs pre-use inspections of forklifts.
• Reads packing slips and enters information into the ERP system.
• Marks and labels materials as needed.
• Conveys and stores raw materials and parts.
• Ensures proper storage and traceability of materials.
• Uses ERP to determine material needs and releases parts to orders.
• Reads pick tickets and prepares shipments or distributes parts.
• Performs basic quality checks and reports issues.
• Uses carrier websites to create shipping documents and arrange freight.

Summary

The Warehouse Associate receives, stores, inspects, and distributes raw materials, tools, equipment, and products within a heavy industrial manufacturing setting by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Receives and unloads inbound shipments. Inspects shipments for damage, quantity, accuracy, and basic quality requirements
• Verifies raw material identification, part numbers, quantities, and lot/heat numbers as required for traceability
• Operates forklift, powered pallet jack, manual pallet jack, dolly, etc., to safely move material throughout the warehouse and facility
• Performs pre-use inspections of forklifts and reports any equipment or safety concerns
• Reads packing slips, checks accuracy against materials received, and enters information into the ERP system to account for receipt of materials
• Marks and labels materials with identifying information as needed
• Conveys and puts away raw materials and parts in appropriate shelves, bins, racks, and designated storage areas
• Ensures materials are properly stored and protected from damage while maintaining accurate identification and traceability
• Uses the ERP system to determine customer and production material needs and releases parts to orders
• Reads and interprets pick tickets, locates and picks parts, and distributes them within the facility or prepares them for outbound shipment as needed
• Performs basic quality checks and reports damaged, incorrect, or nonconforming material to the appropriate personnel
• Uses carrier websites to create shipping documents and arranges freight shipments with customers or carriers. Prepares parcel packages and LTL loads for shipment
• Requests warehouse supplies as needed
• Completes inventory cycle counting requirements as assigned
• Maintains clean, organized, and safe warehouse and material storage areas
• Follows all company safety, quality, and material-handling procedures, including required PPE

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of warehouse, material handling, or inventory experience
• Forklift experience required; forklift certification preferred
• Basic understanding of material identification, inventory control, and quality requirements
• Ability to maintain an appropriate attendance record
• Must have good initiative, dedication, and problem-solving skills
• Must be available to work weekends as well as overtime
• Must be able to work in an industrial environment including temperature extremes of heat and cold, dust, noise, outdoor weather conditions, and wear all required personal protective equipment
• Must be physically fit, including lifting up to 50 lb., pulling, reaching, bending, and climbing
• Must pass a drug test
• Demonstrates strong self-motivation and discipline by efficiently completing tasks and solving problems while working independently with minimal supervision
• NetSuite ERP experience is a PLUS
