Job description

Warehouse Associate

At Construction Resources and its affiliated companies, we are more than a distributor—we are a trusted partner to designers, builders, remodelers, and homeowners. For over 50 years, we’ve delivered integrated solutions that help turn ideas into reality across residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.

Our success is built on collaboration, craftsmanship, and a commitment to excellence. Whether you contribute on the design floor, in operations, or in the field, you’ll be part of a dedicated team that values people, quality, and continuous growth.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Seeking an experienced natural-stone professional who has worked as part of a trained crew unloading 20-foot ocean containers containing marble, granite, or quartzite slab bundles.

The Warehouse Associate plays a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of our warehouse, with a focus on natural stone slab handling and container receiving. This position is responsible for unloading, moving, staging, organizing, and storing large natural stone slabs and related materials using forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment.

This position participates in a rotating Saturday work schedule based on warehouse staffing and operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work as part of a trained crew to safely unload 20-foot ocean containers containing bundled marble, granite, quartzite, and other natural stone slabs.
  • Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other designated warehouse equipment to unload, move, stage, and store large stone slabs.
  • Follow established slab-handling procedures when lifting, separating, securing, and positioning bundled materials to prevent injury or product damage.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, verify quantities and receiving information, and report discrepancies.
  • Load and unload flatbed, box, and other delivery trucks while safely handling heavy, oversized, and fragile materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material locations and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Keep container receiving, slab storage, and general warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, equipment procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Collaborate with warehouse team members, supervisors, suppliers, and carriers to support efficient inbound and outbound operations.
  • Participate in the rotating Saturday schedule as assigned based on business and staffing needs.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience in a stone yard, distribution center, building materials environment, or similar setting.
  • Experience working as part of a trained crew unloading ocean containers containing natural stone slab bundles strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience operating forklifts to safely transport large, heavy, or oversized materials—not solely palletized freight.
  • Experience operating cranes or similar lifting equipment to safely move and position natural stone slabs or comparable oversized materials.
  • Experience loading and unloading flatbed or box trucks with heavy materials.
  • Previous experience with marble, granite, quartzite, natural stone, tile, or related building materials strongly preferred.
  • Forklift certification and applicable crane/rigging training or certification preferred, or ability to obtain required certifications upon hire.
  • Ability to work a rotating Saturday schedule as required.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Knowledge of safe natural stone slab handling and container unloading practices.
  • Strong safety awareness when working around heavy equipment, suspended loads, and high-value materials.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a coordinated warehouse team.
  • Strong attention to detail when inspecting, receiving, staging, and storing materials.
  • Ability to safely perform physical warehouse duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and warehouse management systems.
