Job summary

Lumbermen’s, a Minnesota-based warehouse and distribution employer, is seeking a team member for the Cottage Grove location. This role supports receipt, transfer, and storage of freight, and prepares orders for shipment in our Building Materials division.

You will operate a forklift, pull orders accurately, and assist in loading/unloading trucks in a fast-paced warehouse environment. A clothing allowance is offered as part of benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred.
• Previous forklift experience.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and perform physical labor including lifting up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receipt, transfer, and storage of incoming freight.
• Pick and prepare customer orders for shipment in the Building Materials division.
• Unloading incoming freight and verifying against packing lists.
• Load outbound transfer trucks and transfer picked orders to staging area.

POSITION SUMMARY

Located at our Cottage Grove, MN location, the person in this position would assist with receipt, transfer, and storage of incoming freight, as well as picking and preparing orders for shipments in our Building Materials division. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Living Out Lumbermen’s Culture – Leading in and modeling Lumbermen’s core values while creating an atmosphere where Lumbermen’s is ‘first choice’ of our customers.
• Detail Oriented - Unloading incoming freight, verifying product against enclosed packing lists, sorting material by end destination and putting away excess stock.
• Equipment Usage - Using fork trucks and order picking equipment.
• Loading Products - Loading outbound transfer trucks.
• Preparing Orders - Accurately pulling customer orders and preparing material for shipment
• Safety - Securing and labeling products for delivery.
• Process - Transferring picked orders to staging area for delivery per the delivery schedule.
• Open Communication - Assisting in cleaning and maintenance of warehouse.
• Teamwork - Performing other tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor

This position offers a $300 annual clothing allowance to offset costs for work apparel, protective footwear, and PPE.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Prior warehouse experience is preferred.
• Previous Fork Lift Experience
