Job summary

Lumbermen’s in Cottage Grove, MN is seeking a warehouse associate to support receipt, transfer, and storage of incoming freight and to prepare orders for shipment in the Building Materials division.

You will unload freight, verify packing lists, sort by destination, and load outbound trucks while maintaining safety and organization. A $300 clothing allowance is provided, plus ESOP, health insurance, 401(k), and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred.
• Previous forklift experience required.

Responsibilities

• Unloading incoming freight and verifying against packing lists.
• Sorting material by end destination and stocking accordingly.
• Loading outbound transfer trucks and preparing orders.
• Pulling customer orders with accuracy and safe handling.
• Maintaining safety, labeling products, and keeping area orderly.
• Transferring picked orders to staging per delivery schedule.
• Assisting with cleaning and maintenance of warehouse.
• Collaborating with Warehouse Supervisor and team.

POSITION SUMMARY

Located at our Cottage Grove, MN location, the person in this position would assist with receipt, transfer, and storage of incoming freight, as well as picking and preparing orders for shipments in our Building Materials division. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Detail Oriented - Unloading incoming freight, verifying product against enclosed packing lists, sorting material by end destination and putting away excess stock.
• Equipment Usage - Using fork trucks and order picking equipment.
• Loading Products - Loading outbound transfer trucks.
• Preparing Orders - Accurately pulling customer orders and preparing material for shipment
• Safety - Securing and labeling products for delivery
• Process - Transferring picked orders to staging area for delivery per the delivery schedule.
• Open Communication - Assisting in cleaning and maintenance of warehouse.
• Teamwork - Performing other tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor

This position offers a $300annual clothing allowance to offset costs for work apparel, protective footwear, and PPE.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Prior warehouse experience is preferred.
• Previous Fork Lift Experience

• Ability to accurately pull orders and load/unload trucks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to do physical labor including lifting of up to 75lbs.
