Job summary

Lumbermen’s, headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Warehouse Associate at the Wixom, MI location. You will assist with order picking and loading/unloading, receive and store freight, and transfer orders to staging for delivery. A strong, detail‑oriented communicator thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred are prior warehouse experience and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. A $300 annual clothing allowance is provided, along with comprehensive benefits and ESOP participation.

POSITION SUMMARY

Located at our Wixom, MI location, the person in this position would assist with picking and preparing orders for shipments as well as receive, transfer, and storage of incoming freight in our Wixom division. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Living Out Lumbermen’s Culture – Leading in and modeling Lumbermen’s core values while creating an atmosphere where Lumbermen’s is ‘first choice’ of our customers.
• Detail Oriented - Unloading incoming freight, verifying product against enclosed packing lists, sorting material by end destination and putting away excess stock.
• Equipment Usage - Using fork trucks and order picking equipment.
• Loading Products - Loading outbound transfer trucks.
• Preparing Orders - Accurately pulling customer orders and preparing material for shipment
• Safety - Securing and labeling products for delivery
• Process - Transferring picked orders to staging area for delivery per the delivery schedule.
• Open Communication - Assisting in cleaning and maintenance of warehouse.
• Teamwork - Performing other tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor

This position offers a $300 annual clothing allowance to offset costs for work apparel, protective footwear, and PPE.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Prior warehouse experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to operate a forklift (Training provided)
• Ability to do physical labor including lifting of up to 75lbs.
