Position Summary

Join our exciting & dedicated team at Vallen as a Warehouse Associate. In this position, you will be responsible for following established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, stock and store, record, and dispatch goods in a warehouse or distribution center.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete shipments by processing and loading orders; read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Unload, receive, and put away incoming goods; check for damage and discrepancies; install strapping, bracing, or padding as needed.
  • Sort, label, move, and store goods and merchandise; organize storage to optimize space; follow work orders or verbal instructions.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution; ensure conformance to standards.
  • Prepare, pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods; use pick sheets; verify product and quantity accuracy.
  • Load trucks for delivery; install strapping or padding; check for damage and discrepancies.
  • Consolidate freight, verify shipping methods, and handle oversize loads.
  • Enter data into systems; respond to inquiries; document discrepancies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Assist in inventory management and counts.
  • Follow safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent plus 1 year of relevant experience or training. Experience with loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods; forklift experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders, and manuals. Basic computer skills; familiarity with MS-Office and warehouse software preferred. Basic math skills; ability to work in a team and attention to detail. Safety-minded and able to work in various environments and physical conditions.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work may be in extreme hot or cold environments and dusty conditions.
  • May handle hazardous materials and wear protective equipment.
  • May require forklift certification.
  • Work shifts may vary; overtime and extended hours may be required.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more with assistance; physical activities include standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and climbing.
  • Visual and physical acuity required.
