Summary

Responsible for acting in accordance with the policies set forth in the current procedures manual.

Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the Company Warehouse by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist shipping and receiving, unload trucks, check in merchandise, match purchase orders to sales orders, and distribute to sales associates for processing.
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or designated storage areas.
• Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
• Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
• Open bales, crates, and other containers.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer programs.
• Assist in counting physical inventory.
• Weigh and count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
• Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
• Prepare parcels for mailing.
• Sweep, dust, and mop.
• Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
• Wear proper safety equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager, provided they are legal, ethical, and moral.

• Willing to handle hazardous materials such as certain cleaners and paints.

Education

High school diploma or GED; three months or more related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Competency in basic math and data interpretation.
