Job summary

Penn Veterinary Supply, Grand Rapids, MI is hiring a Warehouse Associate to pick orders, verify shipments, and operate an RF scanner in a fast-paced facility.

You will move materials from receiving to shipping, weigh and count items, prepare parcels, and keep the warehouse clean and safe.

Must be at least 18 with a HS diploma or GED; capable of standing for long periods and performing basic math; schedule Monday–Friday with specific hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules and packing/shipping instructions.
• Able to perform simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Able to stand and walk for long periods.
• Able to use a RF scanner and computer.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for picking orders, order verification, using RF scanner, and safely completing duties relating to materials handling. Candidates must be available to work a schedule from Monday and Tuesday, 10:00am - 7:30pm and Wednesday and Thursday, 10:30am - 7:30pm and Friday, 10:30am - 6:30pm.

• Reads orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
• Moves materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designed areas.
• Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
• Weighs and counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Prepares parcels for mailing.
• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse. Practices safe work habits.
• Completes other related duties as assigned, customary to department and role.

Required Education and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, customer orders, and packing and shipping instructions.
• Able to accomplish simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Able to use a RF scanner and computer.
