About the Position
The Team Leader will oversee the day‑to‑day functions of the warehouse associates on the floor, ensuring customers have an excellent experience by guaranteeing orders are shipped in a prompt, accurate way, and working to always reduce errors and increase efficiencies. The Team Leader will assume the Assistant Warehouse Branch Manager’s responsibilities in their absence.
Schedule & Availability
Candidates must be available to work a schedule from Monday through Friday, 10:45am - 7:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Issues written and oral instructions as directed by the Warehouse Branch Manager or Assistant Warehouse Branch Manager. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Expedites workflow.
- Ensures that warehouse procedures and policies are followed on the floor.
- Maintains proper housekeeping and safety standards.
- Guides warehouse associates. Mentors, trains, and coaches.
- Develops, recommends, and implements methods to improve productivity.
- Willingness for continued training and progression in management and leadership skills.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Assistant Warehouse Branch Manager, Warehouse Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Director of Operations, or President of the Company.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- At least three years of experience in a distribution warehouse.
- Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedures and policy, preferably in human or animal health.
- Customer service driven and focused.
- Strong analytical skills. Strong attention to detail, well organized.
- Able to organize one’s own activities and manage multiple priorities. Must meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to lead and motivate. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Computer literate. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Operate a computer and other office machinery for extended periods of time.
- Move about inside the Warehouse to access inventory, file cabinets, machinery, etc.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to observe details at close range.
- May occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the Associate must be able to tolerate changes in temperature and/or humidity and exposure to dust/fumes/gases.
