Job Summary

Local lumber & building supply company is seeking a well-spoken, energetic warehouse worker to maintain the warehouse and ensure the safe and efficient handling of lumber and building materials including loading, unloading and stocking/organizing inventory. The ideal candidate is a team player with experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

Maintaining a clean, organized and safe lumberyard environment

Identifying and removing obstructions or hazards in the yard

Ensuring proper storage and stacking of lumber and materials

Recognizing and reporting damaged or missing materials

Pulling orders for delivery

Ensure orders are accurate and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction

Loading and unloading lumber and materials onto trucks and customer vehicles

Inspect incoming shipments for any damages, defects, or errors

Using appropriate tools and equipment, such as forklifts and hand trucks

Following safety procedures and protocols

Adhere to all health and safety guidelines

Ability to thrive in high pace environment

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED is preferred

Knowledge in building products and general construction

Previous experience working in a warehouse setting is preferred

Ability to use warehouse equipment, including forklift, pallet jacks, and hand trucks

Capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects

Ability to work with limited supervision

Excellent organizational and time management skills
