Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a physically capable DC Outfitter for our distribution center in Macon, GA. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, manual handling, and cross-training across departments.

You will process orders, stock merchandise, and support shipping and receiving in a non-climate-controlled indoor environment. Applicants must be 18+, able to work a flexible schedule with mandatory overtime, and maintain safety and accuracy in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading/unloading trailers by hand and preparing orders.
• Fill customer orders by inspecting merchandise and matching items to orders.
• Stock, pack and route merchandise for fulfillment and shipping.
• Maintain accurate pick locations and inventory listings.
• Perform returns processing and assist in processing faults or repairs as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness and order in work areas and assist other DC departments as required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The DC Outfitter must have physical stamina and strength to be able to perform the various duties in the Distribution Center. Outfitter will be cross trained in other departments as needed and may be asked to carry out special projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Outfitter will perform manual or physical job duties, based upon DC needs.
• Loads or unloads trailers by hand, i.e. up to and including, grills, tree stands, safes, kayaks, etc.
• Uses scanners to read bar codes on labels and product.
• Fills customer orders by inspecting merchandise and matching merchandise to order.
• Stocks merchandise to ensure availability of items.
• Packs customer orders for shipment.
• Selects and verifies product for fulfillment and routes to the next area or packs for shipping.
• Assigns and reassigns pick locations based on information from reports and maintains an accurate listing of all locations.
• Sorts merchandise as appropriate.
• Processes, tickets, or sorts merchandise for retail locations.
• Performs returns processing for customer orders.
• Cleans and repairs different reel models and determines if repair is under warranty.
• Maintains work area by cleaning as needed.
• Performs manual or physical job duties, based upon DC needs.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 18 years of age.

• Production standards and accuracy are especially important aspects of the position that are closely monitored.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

No travel is required for this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, i.e. repetitive walking, standing, kneeling, bending, stretching, and climbing up and down step ladder for duration of shift and overtime when scheduled.
• Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull and carry 50 lbs. for duration of shift and overtime when scheduled.
• Good hand-eye coordination.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Required to work indoor in a non-climate-controlled environment.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
