Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

The purpose of this position is: Ensure that materials in various stages of picking/shipping/receiving (finished or raw material items) are pulled and delivered to internal and/or external customers.

This position includes significant duties such as to:

• Pick up and deliver materials to the production floor using a cart or pallet jack
• Ensure that transactions are properly recorded in required systems (SAP, FedEx, UPS, etc.)
• Provide accurate and responsive material stocking, inventory management, and distribution of materials
• Contribute to the 5S departmental goals by maintaining the cleanliness of the production, shipping and warehouse areas
• Other Warehouse duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

• Team Environment with well lit, climate controlled areas
• Bending, standing, or walking for approximately 6-8 hours per day
• Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds
• Work with chemical substances, heat, dust, noise, fumes odors, oil mist (none disagreeable)
• May require use of PPE, such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, high visibility vest, etc.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• One year warehouse experience and basic computer skills that include the Microsoft platform, Outlook and some Excel.
• Able to effectively communicate in English.

The range for this position is $19.25hourly rate -$21.50hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
