Job summary

Worldwide Golf is hiring for a dual shipping and receiving position based in Joliet, IL. The role requires flexibility to cover 30-40 hours per week with varied daily/weekly schedules, including some weekends during peak seasons.

Prior forklift experience is a plus but not required, and safety and accuracy in handling shipments are essential. Based at our new warehouse, this role contributes to efficient order fulfillment, inventory control, and smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with warehouse/shipping & receiving is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
• Requires basic reading/writing and record-keeping skills.
• Willingness to work varied hours including weekends during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance and select appropriate shipping container.
• Verify quantities, destination, and routing against work orders.
• Receive and unload incoming materials and compare packing slips with purchase orders.
• Log and track inventory; process returns from customers when applicable.
• Operate dolly, pallet jack, or forklift as needed and perform basic equipment maintenance.

This position will currently be scheduled 30 - 40 hours/week - flexibility is required as the scheduled hours will vary daily/weekly/seasonally. (Scheduled hours will generally be from 9am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday and 9am - 3:30pm on Saturdays. Occasional Sundays during peak seasons)
Experience on Fork Lift Trucks and/or Order Picker Lift Trucks is a PLUS but not required.
This role will be based at our new warehouse located at 2750 Ellis Drive, Joliet, IL 60433

Responsibilities Include

• Prepares shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; selects appropriate shipping container; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
• Checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
• Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
• Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received.
• Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisors and/or purchasing personnel.
• Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
• May maintain the department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
• May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machines; may operate company vehicles to deliver shipments; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarms.
• Follows established departmental policies, and objectives, continuous improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Any warehouse/shipping & receiving experience is a plus, but not required (we are open to entry-level candidates with no warehouse experience)
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
• Ability to read and write.
• Record maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to receive, track and distribute materials, supplies and equipment.
• Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Ability to read, sort, check, count and verify numbers.
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
• Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates, including some weekends

The hourly rate for this position is $17.00 - 21.90 per hour. Individual starting rate within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
