Job summary

Mattress Firm in Garner, NC is seeking a Warehouse Associate to receive, pick, pack, and ship merchandise, and maintain orderly inventory storage in a fast-paced warehouse. You will ensure accuracy, safety, and on-time deliveries while supporting customers and store operations.

  • Inspect items for damages and ensure proper storage and rotation of inventory.
  • Communicate with customers to provide world-class service and maintain safety policies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment and participate in inbound/outbound QA processes.

This role communicates with customers to ensure world class service is provided and always operates according to safety policies and procedures.Essential ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload product from delivery trucks and vendor shipments.Stage deliveries.Store all product in designated location.Ensure inventory is dated and rotated per schedule.Inspect products for defects and damages when receiving or shipping.Obtain appropriate and authorized signatures on paperwork.Assist in customer pickups, providing exceptional customer service.Participate in inbound and outbound quality assurance processes.Operate and maintain order pickers and warehouse equipment.May operate other specialized equipment to move and distribute freight.Maintain grounds by picking up papers and trash and cleaning parking lot and entrance to building.Maintain stock and merchandise area, keeping it organized and clean.Ensure cleanliness of offices, bathrooms, warehouse floor, truck docks and aisles through mopping, sweeping, and washing.Remove trash daily by emptying trash containers, transporting materials to disposal area, and recycling materials.Clean and sanitize product per Company standard operating procedure.Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations.Non-Essential ResponsibilitiesExecute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor.Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredProfessional Experience1+ Years general work experience preferred AndSkills ListStrong communication skills.Ability to pay close attention to detail.Ability to manage time efficiently to ensure completion of work.KnowledgeGeneral warehouse operationsKnowledge of the equipment and function of Powered Industrial Trucks for product relocation and safety inspectionMicrosoft Office products (preferred)Physical DemandsWarehouse EnvironmentSitting frequentlyStanding frequentlyWalking frequentlyTalking frequentlyHearing frequentlyLift or move up to 100 poundsUsage of hands and fingersReaching with hands and armsStooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling occasionallySight is required to ensure the safety of yourself and others.ScopeWork is closely managed and reviewed for accuracy and adequacy.
