Job summary

GEODIS in Fontana, CA is hiring a Warehouse Associate/Material Handler. You will receive, store, move and distribute materials, read production schedules, and prepare orders for packing and shipping.

We offer flexible shifts, full-time or part-time options, and a focus on safety and teamwork. A high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of related experience are required. Full benefits and on-demand pay options are available.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform operations using US customary units for currency, weight, volume and distance.
• Ability to follow simple instructions and perform routine tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, storing, moving, and distributing materials.
• Reads schedules and orders to determine items to move or gather.
• Conveys materials from receiving/production to storage or designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials on racks or bins by size, type, or product code.
• Assembles customer orders and places on pallets or shelves or directs to packing/shipping.

What you will be doing:

• Receiving, storing, moving, and distributing materials
• Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as: size, type, style, color, or product code
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places on pallets or shelves, or conveys order to packing station or shipping department

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
• Minimum 1 to 3 months of related experience
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one‑or two‑step instructions
• Ability to complete duties with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
• Ability to use hands, sit, reach, stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch, talk or hear
• Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to be exposed to non‑climate‑controlled environments
