We are a photographic specialty dealer offering the latest in DSLR & Mirrorless camera gear, professional lighting equipment, accessories, digital lab services, and fully stocked rental departments at select locations.

About Dodd Camera and the Position:

Dodd Camera was founded in 1891. Still family-owned after all these years, we operate 5 stores located in Cleveland, Solon, Chicago, Dayton, and Cincinnati. We are a photographic specialty dealer offering the latest in DSLR & Mirrorless camera gear, professional lighting equipment, accessories, digital lab services, and fully stocked rental departments at select locations.

We are looking for a reliable warehouse employee to aid in day-to-day operations. Including but not limited to order pulling, shipping, receiving, and daily organization. The position is full-time, M - F, first shift. Occasional Saturday and overtime hours may be available during the holiday selling season (November and December). We offer a starting wage of $16/HR, along with competitive medical benefit packages, a retirement plan with employer match, and paid time off. There will also be opportunities for growth, as Dodd Camera prefers internal promotion when possible.

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Transports incoming and outgoing orders to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish tasks including but not limited to hand dolly, forklift, electric dolly, and/or pallet jack.
  2. Performs quality inspections on incoming and outgoing orders and products.
  3. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures.
  4. Picks, packs, and ships orders and products.
  5. Processes all packages for shipping; processes returned merchandise.
  6. Conducts physical inventory counts; replenishes stock from backup locations as needed.
  7. Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
  8. Participates in quality improvement efforts.
  9. Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One to two years of related experience or equivalent is desired but not required.
  • Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • FedEx or UPS shipping experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Climb a ladder to a height of at least 20 feet.
  • Walk, bend, and climb stairs.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl
  • A large percentage of work time is spent in a warehouse where temperatures are cool and noise levels can be moderate to high.
  • Protective clothing or equipment is required that may include gloves, helmets, steel-toed boots, or protective eyewear
  • The noise level in the work environment usually is moderate
