Job summary

Granite City Electric Supply is seeking a warehouse associate to perform physical and clerical duties in a fast-paced hub. The role includes picking, cutting wire, packing, labeling, and shipping, with a 8:30 AM–5:30 PM schedule and a starting pay of $23/hr.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 100 lbs, operate forklifts, and maintain accurate records. DOT card and valid license are required; health benefits and 401k match are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or substituted with relevant experience.
• Possession of valid drivers license and DOT medical card is required.
• Forklift experience or training desirable.
• Equivalent education or experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment safely (forklift, pallet jack).
• Move, pick, pack, label, and route materials for shipping.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and data entry per procedures.

Position Summary:

To perform physical and clerical warehouse duties such as the picking, cutting wire, assembling wire reels, receiving materials, Inventory control functions and shipping of materials. Responsible for daily operations requirements set forth on operations responsibility list. This position may also be used as a back up driver and therefore a valid drivers license, clean driving record and Medical DOT Card. Hours for this position are 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Pay for this position starts at $23/hr.

Essential Functions:

• Reports to the Operations Manager on a regular basis ensuring the completion of all operational responsibilities for hub meeting all deadlines.
• Complete tasks assigned by assigned Supervisor(s).
• Move material in a safe manner, manually or by using forklift, pallet jack, handcart or another device.
• Accurately, counts, checks, prepare, and records items being shipped.
• Assembles, packages, labels, stacks, palletizes, cuts wire and routes material for safe delivery or storage.
• Respond to calls from internal customers.
• Complete paperwork, documentation, and data input in accordance with established procedures.
• Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Acquires and maintains current knowledge of GCE policies and procedures, general product knowledge participates in training, and attends meetings as requested.
• Acts in helpful and cooperative manner towards customers and co-workers.
• Participates in processes and programs aimed at promoting a safe work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must acquire a working knowledge of the Eclipse software support system.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Safe driving and forklift operator courses desirable.
• Knowledge of warehouse equipment preferred.
• Equivalent education or experience may be substituted for any of the above.
• Validdrivers license, clean driving record, Medical DOT Card.
