Job summary

Freestore Foodbank is seeking a Warehouse Worker to prepare orders for delivery, receive stock, and maintain inventory accuracy. You will operate forklifts and warehouse equipment, stage shipments, and ensure clean, safe storage areas.

Strong communication with supervisors and coworkers is essential; some driving may be required. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, proven warehouse experience, and familiarity with warehousing practices.

Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, responsible for picking orders, operating material handling equipment, and keeping warehouse/inventory in a state of readiness. Must be able to communicate and work effectively with supervisors and coworkers and may be required to drive a truck on occasion.Key Responsibilities / DutiesPrepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule, including loading, picking, wrapping, labeling, and staging for shipment.Receive and process warehouse stock products, including picking, uploading, labeling, and storing.Perform inventory controls and maintain quality standards for audits.Optimize space utilization.Report order discrepancies.Communicate and cooperate with team leaders and coworkers.Operate and perform preventive maintenance on warehouse vehicles and equipment.Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Maintain a safe, clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, and workstations neat and maintaining a clean shipping supply area.May be required to drive on occasion.Perform other job-related instructions as requested by the supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodations.High school diploma or equivalent.Proven work experience as a warehouse worker.Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.Forklift and material handling equipment experience is required.Prior warehouse or distribution experience helpful.Ability to lift heavy objects.Reporting skills.Inventory control.Documentation skills.Equipment maintenance.Data entry.Good communication skills.Map reading helpful.
