Job summary

Parksite and Atlantic Plywood, an employee-owned company, are seeking a Warehouse Associate in Carlstadt, NJ. The role focuses on receiving, storing, and distributing building materials with forklift operation and voice-picking technology.

Training is provided; full-time, hourly with overtime eligibility. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, supporting inventory control and safety compliance while advancing in a growing distribution team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 3 months of warehouse experience or equivalent training/education.
  • Training provided for candidates new to warehousing.
  • Basic English reading/writing to understand safety instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Use voice-picking to pick, pack, and prepare orders.
  • Assemble and verify orders for accuracy before shipment.
  • Load outbound shipments using the Infor/CSD/WMS platform.
  • Unload and inspect inbound merchandise for accuracy.
  • Move and store materials in designated locations for retrieval.
  • Operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers after training.
  • Maintain organized storage areas and assist with cycle counts.
  • Follow safety policies and wear PPE as required.

What You'll Do

As a Warehouse Associate, you'll play a critical role in our daily operations, ensuring products are received, stored, and distributed efficiently and safely. This is a non-exempt, hourly position eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.

  • Use voice-picking technology to accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders
  • Assemble and verify orders for accuracy and quality before shipment
  • Load outbound shipments and process orders using the Infor/CSD/WMS platform

Receiving & Inventory Control

  • Unload and inspect inbound merchandise for accuracy and quality
  • Check in products against purchase orders and apply SKU labels
  • Move, sort, and store materials in designated locations for efficient retrieval
  • Safely operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers after successful completion of company-provided training and OSHA-required certification
  • Transport, stack, and store pallets following all safety guidelines

Inventory Management

  • Assist with physical inventory and scheduled cycle counts
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies
  • Maintain organized storage areas to support operational efficiency

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Wear required PPE including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and gloves
  • Follow all safety policies and report hazards or equipment issues immediately
  • Work safely in indoor, outdoor, hot, and cold environments

General Responsibilities

  • Follow company policies and supervisor instructions
  • Collaborate with team members to meet productivity goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 3 months of warehouse experience or equivalent training/education
  • Training provided for candidates new to warehousing

Skills & Abilities

  • Basic English reading and writing skills sufficient to understand safety instructions, labels, and operating procedures. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 90 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in indoor/outdoor environments, including hot and cold conditions
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
  • Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift operation experience (sit-down, cherry picker, reach truck)
  • Voice-picking system experience
  • Lumber or building product industry experience
  • Receiving and shipping experience
  • Inventory control experience
  • WMS (Warehouse Management System) familiarity
  • Previous experience in a distribution or warehouse environment

Schedule:

  • Full-time position
  • Day shift schedule (typical warehouse hours)
  • Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods as needed
