United Pipe & Steel Corp. in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join our distribution team.

This full-time role operates 6:00am - 2:30pm, with potential overtime, and involves loading/unloading, using a sit-down forklift, inspecting shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory. You will work with a safety-forward team to ensure on-time order accuracy, proper banding and packaging, and clean, organized warehouse spaces.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Sit-down forklift experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to wear PPE and meet pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload pipe and tube products from flatbed trucks.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to move heavy inventory.
• Inspect incoming/outgoing products and report damage.
• Band, wrap, and secure products for shipment.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with order tracking.
• Complete daily forklift safety inspections and report needs.
• Keep warehouse clean and safe.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team to finish workloads.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

We're looking for a dependable Warehouse Associate / Forklift Operator to join our team. If you have forklift or warehouse experience, take pride in working safely, and enjoy being part of a team that keeps products moving, we'd like to hear from you!

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position with a schedule of 6:00am - 2:30pm with 30-minute lunch break and overtime may occur for operational requirements including Saturday.

What You'll Do

• Load and unload pipe and tube products from flatbed trucks.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to safely move heavy inventory throughout the warehouse.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products and report damaged or defective material.
• Band, wrap, and secure products for shipment.
• Help maintain accurate inventory and assist with order accuracy and track-and-trace issues.
• Complete daily forklift safety inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Keep warehouse and work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Follow all United Pipe & Steel safety policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete daily workloads.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Sit-down forklift experience preferred.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly reach, bend, push, pull, and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability and willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ability to meet applicable pre‑employment requirements for the position.
• Hourly pay rate based on experience: $19-$20/ hour + Overtime when needed
