Job Description
Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in processing the shipping and receiving of raw and finished material to ensure Kaufman Containers customer and vendor requirements are met. Assist in the hiring, training, and accountability measures for all warehouse-related duties.
Essential Functions
- Ensure safety protocols are being followed and create a safe working environment for all warehouse associates.
- Create the pickup schedule for local vendors.
- Record product shipments on a computer with an accurate packing slip, BOL, Pro Number, etc.
- Verify all incoming materials for accuracy and ensure all raw materials are received into inventory accurately. When discrepancies take place, work to get corrected.
- Ensure assigned workloads and daily tasks assigned to warehouse associates are completed.
- Assist warehouse personnel in solving problems as needed.
- Run picking tickets every 2 hours.
- Run the shipping report at the end of the shift, daily.
- Ensure maintenance and mileage paperwork is completed for all tow motors and address as needed.
- Make sure cycle counting is being done. (entire warehouse 4 - 5 times per year)
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist other departments and company personnel in providing superior response and service.
- Provide support and assistance to the Warehouse Supervisor as needed.
- Be able to back up the Warehouse Support Desk as needed.
- Account for all inventory discrepancies.
- Enforce inventory and storage areas are maintain good housekeeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Set the example for coworkers to follow.
Qualifications
- Must have excellent communications and organizational skills.
- Good attendance record.
- Experience with computers and office environment software.
- Leadership skills and ability to effectively manage a team.
- Self-motivated, self-starter, personable.
- Be able to obtain a tow motor license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting and/or carrying a maximum of up to 40 lbs.
- Constant bilateral simple hand grasping.
- Continuous visual sensory demands: near acuity, color vision, and depth perception (for checking quality in printing/labeling and depth perception for grabbing pallets on tow motor).
- Standing/walking for up to 8 or 10 hours
