Reports To: Warehouse & Inventory Manager
Position Overview: We are looking for a reliable and skilled Warehouse Assistant II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in warehouse operations, including shipping, inventory management, and operating forklifts. This role offers the opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic environment and work closely with our warehouse management team.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts to safely transport materials and products within the warehouse.
Assist with the loading and unloading of shipments, ensuring the safe handling of goods.
Lead team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment including forklift trucks, hand tools etc.
Process and prepare outgoing shipments for delivery.
Inspect products and materials for quality control and assist with inventory management.
Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Record and update product inventory levels in the system.
Support with labeling, packaging, and preparing items for shipping.
Coordinate with the logistics and shipping teams to ensure timely deliveries.
Assist in leading a small team of warehouse staff and help maintain daily workflow efficiency.
Other duties as required to support the warehouse operations.
Required Qualifications:
Forklift certification preferred (must be valid and up to date) or ability to recertify.
OSHA 10 certification (must be valid and up to date), or willingness to get certified.
Proven experience in warehouse operations, including material handling, and shipping and receiving.
Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, management and other departments
Problem solving ability to Identify and resolve issues that may arise within the warehouse, such as equipment malfunctions, inventory discrepancies
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse software.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Basic math skills for inventory and shipping calculations.
Strong computer skills.
Familiar with Microsoft Excel.
Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform other physical tasks as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role in a warehouse setting.
Familiarity with shipping carriers (FedEx, UPS, etc.) and documentation processes.
Ability to operate additional warehouse machinery or equipment.
Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse software.
Work Environment:
This position requires on-site attendance every scheduled workday and is not eligible for hybrid or telecommuting work arrangements. The Warehouse Assistant will work in a warehouse setting that may involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise. Safety gear may be required when operating equipment or handling certain materials.
