Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory accuracy, perform cycle counts and print inventory reports.
  • Assist with physical inventories and audits.
  • Verify shipment contents against records (manifests, invoices, orders).
  • Record shipment data (weight, charges, space, damages) for reporting.
  • Package and prepare materials for shipment; issue shipping instructions.
  • Label and tag parts to prevent misidentification or damage.
  • Transport materials using forklift or hand truck; route materials to departments.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials to maintain stock levels.
  • Unload/load trailers and manage stock tracking and placement.
  • Use Oracle for in/outbound transactions; complete daily forklift inspections.
  • Maintain clean, safe work environment and follow OSHA/PPE rules.
  • Perform other tasks as required.
  • Train new inventory staff and support cross-training.

Job description

Brief Description:

The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and all tasks associated with the receipt, storage, shipment of product/materials used in the warehouse of an oilfield remanufacture facility.


This role will report to the Equipment (Inventory) Manager.


Detailed Description:


  • Maintain inventory accuracy, perform cycle counts and print inventory reports In MSD Shared Files / Oracle

  • Assist with all Physical Inventory Counting and audits (including Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Inventories)

  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy

  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes

  • Package and prepare materials for shipments and arrange or issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials

  • Proper packing, labeling, and tagging of parts before putting away inventory to prevent misidentification and damage to parts

  • Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, forklifts, or sorting bins

  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock

  • May be required to manage the process of unloading and loading trailers, picking up, packing, and shipping stock, tracking, and counting material and placing materials in proper locations

  • Utilize the established tools, equipment and technologies required to initiate or complete transactions related to in and outbound processes within the warehouse in Oracle

  • Complete daily forklift inspection checklist. Maintain and service warehouse equipment like forklift, trucks, and any other company equipment.

  • Driving forklifts, including narrow aisle reach

  • Maintain a well-organized and clean work environment

  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed in accordance with established regulations

  • e.g. OSHA, PPE, etc.

  • Other various tasks as required


Job Requirements:


  • Ability to safely lift and carry 50 pounds independently

  • Must be very detailed oriented and thorough

  • Clear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third parties

  • Ability to communicate effectively with department representatives and management, both verbally and in writing

  • Able to work effectively with others in a team-based environment to accomplish company goals and to identify and resolve shipping and receiving issues

  • Ability to operate hydraulic lift trucks, forklift, and other material handling equipment

  • Moderate use of a variety of hand and power tools to demonstrate a range of mechanically oriented functions

  • Ability to work on weekends and be on call after hours

  • Ability to cross train within all areas of the inventory department (Assets / Physical Inventory)

  • Must train new employees in all areas of the inventory department

  • Demonstrate clear communication skills and ability to promptly give, and follow, directions when working with others

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated times

Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Must live within a 1 hour driving distance to the yard


Preferred Qualifications


  • Forklift Certification

  • Knowledge and experience in warehousing and inventory management

  • Previous Mud Motor inventory or shop experience

  • MSD Asset Validation Experience

  • Travel to other districts as needed


Additional Details:

This position requires the person to work in both an office and remanufacture warehouse facility environment. The Warehouse Assistance must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. Also, must be able to work closely with others and under deadlines including time-sensitive response situations and be willing to work extended schedules that will include working days, and occasionally nights, weekends, and holidays.
