Job summary

Bailey's Moving & Storage Co. in Colorado Springs is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to help receive, inspect, and organize customer inventory and packing supplies. You will assist with loading and unloading moving trucks in a safe and efficient manner and prepare items for storage or delivery.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Training on equipment and safety procedures will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous warehouse, moving, logistics, or inventory experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and organize inventory and supplies.
• Assist with loading and unloading moving trucks safely.
• Prepare, label, wrap, and stage items for storage and transport.
• Maintain inventory records and document movements.
• Conduct routine inventory counts and audits.
• Ensure belongings are handled with care to prevent damage.
• Organize warehouse storage areas for space utilization.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in warehouse and loading areas.
• Assist movers and drivers with equipment and shipments.
• Operate warehouse equipment (hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
• Follow safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

Salary Range: $19.00 To $21.00 Hourly

Hourly $19.00 to $21.00 an hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and organize incoming customer inventory, furniture, household goods, and packing supplies.
• Assist with loading and unloading moving trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Prepare, label, wrap, and stage customer items for storage, delivery, and transportation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and document the movement of goods in and out of the warehouse.
• Conduct routine inventory counts and assist with inventory audits.
• Ensure customer belongings are handled with care to prevent damage or loss.
• Organize warehouse storage areas to maximize space utilization and accessibility.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse, loading areas, and storage facilities.
• Assist movers and drivers with assembling moving equipment and preparing shipments.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including hand trucks, pallet jacks, dollies, and forklifts (if certified).
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
• Report damaged inventory, equipment issues, or safety concerns to management immediately.
• Support warehouse security by ensuring storage areas are properly secured and monitored.
• Assist with packing, unpacking, furniture padding, and other moving-related services as needed.
• Work collaboratively with warehouse staff, drivers, movers, and management to meet operational goals.
• Perform other warehouse and logistics duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous warehouse, moving, logistics, or inventory experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
• Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and overtime.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy items.
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the workday.
