Job summary

Valpak Manufacturing Center in Saint Petersburg, FL, is seeking a Warehouse Automation Technician to support automated material handling and equipment across our climate-controlled facility. The role starts with $16–$20 per hour, plus a 20% shift differential and opportunities for overtime, training, and progression.

You’ll monitor conveyors, AGVs, palletizers, and ASRS, load/unload trucks, and help ensure products move efficiently from production through shipping.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial experience.
• Experience with automated material handling is a plus but not required.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and technical documents.
• Basic computer skills, including SAP (experience preferred).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid Florida driver license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated warehouse and material handling equipment.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Operate or learn to operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment.
• Monitor conveyors, robotic palletizers, AGVs, ASRS, and related systems.
• Respond to equipment alarms and perform routine resets and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot routine equipment issues and communicate more complex concerns to Senior Technicians.
• Count, verify, and move production materials throughout the facility.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate inventory movement and documentation using SAP.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Participate in the VMC Progression Program to develop additional skills.

Starting Pay: $16 - $20 per hour + Skill Progression

Location: Valpak Manufacturing Center (VMC) – St. Petersburg, FL

Schedule: Full-Time | All Shifts

Shift Differential: 20% Pay Differential depending on shift schedule

Overtime: Overtime opportunities may be available based on production needs.

What Your Day Looks Like

Every day you'll help keep materials moving through our highly automated warehouse.

You'll monitor conveyors, robotic palletizers, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), high-density storage systems, and other automated material handling equipment to ensure products move efficiently throughout the manufacturing and distribution process. You'll respond to equipment alerts, perform routine machine resets and adjustments, troubleshoot minor issues, inspect equipment performance, and work closely with teammates to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Respond to equipment alarms and perform routine machine resets and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot routine equipment issues and communicate more complex concerns to Senior Process Technicians.
• Count, verify, and move production materials throughout the facility.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate inventory movement and documentation using SAP.

Qualifications

• One to two years of manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, logistics, or industrial experience preferred.
• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment or automated material handling systems is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and technical documents.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (SAP experience preferred).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license or the ability to obtain a Florida driver's license.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is an active position in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. Candidates must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Climb ladders and safely work at varying heights.
• Work around automated warehouse equipment and moving machinery.
• Work in a manufacturing environment where hearing protection is required.
• Work overtime, including weekends, when production needs require.
