Industrial Maintenance Technician – Manufacturing Equipment
Location: Valpak Clipp Manufacturing Center (VMC) – St. Petersburg, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | All Shifts
Pay: $26 - $31 per hour
Shift Differential: 20% Pay Differential depending on shift schedule
Overtime: Overtime opportunities available based on production needs

At the Valpak Clipp Manufacturing Center, our Industrial Maintenance Technicians play a critical role in supporting the equipment that produces millions of printed advertising pieces delivered to homes across the country.
This is a hands-on maintenance position in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility where you'll troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on automated production equipment using your mechanical and electrical skills.

What Your Day Looks Like
Every day is different.
You'll respond to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, inspect equipment, and work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and keep operations running efficiently.
You'll also have opportunities to expand your skills while working alongside experienced maintenance technicians in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues on automated production equipment.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
- Diagnose equipment problems using technical manuals, schematics, vendor resources, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Support equipment utilizing hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, conveyors, PLCs, HMIs, variable frequency drives, and control systems.
- Respond quickly to production equipment failures while communicating repair status with production personnel.
- Generate, update, and close work orders using the SAP maintenance management system.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and plant safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
- Work closely with Advanced Industrial Maintenance Technicians to continue developing your technical skills.

Qualifications
- Vocational training, technical certification, or a minimum of Three years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience, including safely working with 480V electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, drives, and industrial control systems.
- Experience reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Preventative maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in printing, packaging, food and beverage, or automated manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience using SAP or another computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This position is performed in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. Candidates must be able to:
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Work around automated industrial machinery.
- Safely use power tools and machine shop equipment.
- Work from ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts at heights up to 30 feet.
- Occasionally work in confined spaces.
- Work in a manufacturing environment where hearing protection is required.
- Supply personal standard and metric hand tools (specialty tools provided by the company).
