Job summary

Unclaimed Baggage, Inc. in Scottsboro, Alabama, seeks a Warehouse and Delivery Support to serve as a Delivery Driver substitute and to handle pickups, transfers, and deliveries. This role also covers general warehouse tasks such as receiving, storage, and distribution of shipments.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Mon–Fri, 6:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M., with possible overtime and occasional trips to Atlanta for freight pickups.

Qualifications

• Ability to drive and back a truck up to loading docks.
• Physical capability for repetitive lifting and outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• On an as-needed basis, perform the role of Delivery Truck Driver during the Driver’s absence.
• Receive, account for, organize, and store inbound shipments.
• Coordinate with Buying Team for quoting, scheduling, and inbound/outbound units.
• Assist in unloading, loading, and processing freight, including donations.
• Occasional monthly trips to Atlanta to assist with freight pickups.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist with trailer cleaning and prep.
• Assist in baling cardboard and keeping the area around the compactor clean.
• Prepare empty trailers for future loads and maintain forklift operation certification.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Summary

The Warehouse and Delivery Support serves as the fill-in alternate for the Delivery Driver, as needed, by driving the box truck and making pickups, transfers, and deliveries to and from various company locations. This role also owns and assists with general warehouse functions including receiving, handling, storage, and distribution of incoming shipments.

Key Responsibilities

• On an as-needed basis, perform the role and duties of Delivery Truck Driver during the Driver’s absence.
• Receive, account for, organize, and store all inbound parcel and LTL shipments.
• Maintain relationship and communication with the Buying Team to assist in quoting, scheduling, and receiving inbound and outbound shipments.
• Assist in unloading, loading, and processing various freight as needed, including car seats, strollers, and donations.
• Potential once-per-month trip to Atlanta to assist with freight pick-ups.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist in sweeping and cleaning out trailers when needed.
• Assist in baling cardboard and keeping the area around the compactor clean (priority when emptied) when needed.
• Assist in preparing empty trailers for future loads to be picked up.
• Maintain current certification and operate the forklift as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to drive and back a truck up to loading docks.
• Repetitive moderate to heavy lifting is required.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work outside in different weather conditions.

Qualifications

Work Schedule

• 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 6:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M.
• Some overtime and/or Saturdays as needed.
• Potential once-per-month trip to Atlanta may range from 10 – 16 hours.

• All major holidays (excluding Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day).
• Wednesday and Friday of Thanksgiving Week.
• Friday before Ski Sale.
• Saturday before Thanksgiving.
• Annual Winter & Ski Event (1st Saturday in November).
• One holiday per year on the Retail Sales Floor.
