Primary Function
Efficiently unload baggage from trailers, distribute items to baggage openers, and maintain workflow efficiency while ensuring accurate load counts. Assist with warehouse maintenance, charitable product management, and cross‑training within operational departments.
Key Responsibilities
Trailer Unloading & Distribution
- Unload baggage from trailers in a timely manner.
- Pull and distribute work from small vendors and warehouse staging trailers to baggage openers.
- Ensure baggage openers' workstations remain stocked with inventory to prevent workflow interruptions.
Work Area Maintenance & Support
- Remove trash from baggage opener workstations regularly.
- Keep the work area clean and safe, including sweeping and maintaining trailers after unloading.
- Assist baggage openers as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Charitable Product & Inventory Management
- Keep charitable gaylord products organized and stored in the designated holding area.
- Empty charitable bins at each opener's station into the correct non‑fabric gaylords.
Stroller & Miscellaneous Item Processing
- Examine jogging strollers to determine if they are sellable, prioritizing high‑value models.
- Remove stickers and identification from sellable strollers, assign correct load number stickers, and distribute accordingly.
- Place non‑sellable strollers, car seats, and medical items into designated gaylords.
- Record the quantity of non‑sellable strollers, car seats, and medical items on the tally sheet within the receiving app
Lost & Found Management
- Collect and neatly store lost and found boxes in designated gaylords.
- Properly store any "luv luggage" from baggage openers in the warehouse lineup once gaylords are full.
Warehouse & Equipment Assistance
- Assist in baling cardboard as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness around the compactor, prioritizing upkeep when empty.
- Sweep and prepare trailers for future loads after unloading.
Atlanta Trip Assistance (As Needed)
- Assist with loading airline products in Atlanta (once per month), which may involve a 10-16 hour workday.
Cross‑Training & Development
- Learn and assist in other warehouse jobs as needed.
- Participate in cross‑training across all operational departments to support company efficiency.
Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks assigned by management.
Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Basic math skills with the ability to use a calculator.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Attention to detail for accurate inventory tracking.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Light to moderate lifting required.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
Work Schedule
40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
Mandatory overtime as needed.
Required workdays include
- Friday before Memorial Day
- Business day before Fourth of July
- Friday before Labor Day
- Winter Event
- Saturday before Thanksgiving
Required to work one holiday per year on the Retail Sales Floor.
