Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position for a Wall Climbing & Ropes Counselor at Camp Nakanawa, located in Crossville, TN. The counselor will lead wall climbing and ropes course activities, ensuring participant safety and engagement throughout. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining equipment, instructing participants, monitoring safety standards, and providing guidance and encouragement. Additionally, the counselor will collaborate with other staff members to foster a positive and inclusive environment in alignment with the camp's mission.

Qualifications

• Experience or skills in wall climbing, ropes courses, or other related outdoor adventure activities
• Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment maintenance for climbing and ropes challenges
• Leadership and instructional skills to effectively guide and encourage participants
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to foster a safe and welcoming environment
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of counselors and staff
• CPR or first aid certification is a plus
