Job summary

Scouting America’s COPE program seeks a Climbing Wall Facilitator to support safe, exciting climbing experiences for youth at Camp Bashor. You will focus on safety, equipment management, and delivering positive adventure experiences aligned with National Camp Standards.

The role requires 18+ with climbing/adventure background, strong leadership, and the ability to work outdoors at heights. Interacting with campers and staff, you’ll help maintain equipment and uphold program quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Prior experience with rock climbing or adventure facilitation preferred.
• Ability to work at heights and outdoors for extended periods.
• Strong communication and leadership with a focus on safety and teamwork.
• Positive attitude and commitment to youth development and outdoor education.

Responsibilities

• Operate the climbing wall in compliance with COPE and Climbing Standards.
• Perform safety inspections of lines, harnesses, helmets, and belay systems.
• Conduct participant briefings on safety procedures and course rules.
• Assist with wall setup, maintenance, and inspection documentation.
• Monitor participant progress and ensure safety protocol adherence.
• Maintain professionalism and promote Scouting values at all times.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as assigned.
