Job summary

Northeast Counseling Services is seeking a compassionate Walk-In Crisis Worker to join our Crisis Services team. This full-time day shift role provides immediate assessment, intervention, and support to individuals in psychiatric or behavioral health emergencies, serving adults, children, adolescents, and families.

You will conduct in-person and telephone crisis evaluations, coordinate care with partners, link clients to resources, and document accurately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Counseling, Nursing or related human services field.
• High school diploma with 12+ credits in social sciences acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct crisis assessments and evaluations for individuals in mental health emergencies.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention, stabilization, and supportive counseling.
• Coordinate care with families, schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations.
• Link individuals and families to behavioral health resources and ongoing care.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency requirements.
• Participate in team consultations and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
• Maintain safety procedures and respond effectively in high-stress situations.
