Job summary

Marin Waldorf School in San Rafael, CA is seeking a dynamic Summer Camp Manager to lead planning, staffing, daily operations, and family experience for our eight-week Waldorf-inspired camp for grades 1–6 (June 14–August 6, 2027). The role requires on-site presence during camp and remote planning for program design and staffing.

You will design age-appropriate activities, recruit and train staff, oversee safety and behavior, and act as the primary contact for families.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience with elementary- and middle-school-aged children in a camp, school, or youth program setting.
• Supervisory experience leading staff or counselors.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (pediatric and adult), or willingness to obtain before camp begins.
• Ability to pass a Live Scan background check and TB clearance, and to complete mandated reporter training.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; calm and sound judgment under pressure.
• Genuine warmth toward children and a collaborative spirit with colleagues and families.

Responsibilities

• Design weekly Waldorf-inspired camp activities and daily rhythm.
• Recruit, interview, and hire camp staff and instructors.
• Provide staff orientation on Waldorf approaches and camp procedures.
• Maintain safe camper ratios and oversee first aid and incident reporting.
• Communicate with families and coordinate enrollment and promotions.
• Manage camp budget and coordinate facilities and transportation.
• Prepare end-of-season report with enrollment and financials
