Job summary

Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center is seeking a part-time Wait Staff to assist with dinner and meal service for residents and guests. You will serve meals, maintain cleanliness, and support dining room operations in a team environment.

The role requires flexible weekend availability, shifts from 4:30pm to 8:00pm, and a starting wage of $15.00 per hour. Experience with elderly residents is preferred, and adherence to health and safety standards is essential.

Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center is seeking Wait Staff to assist with our meal services. The ideal candidate loves working with older people and works well independently and as a team player.

Primary Function:

Responsible for serving food to residents and guests, dishwashing and cleaning in dining areas.

Essential Functions

• Understands the various therapeutic diets and applies this knowledge when serving.
• Serves food to residents following their diets, food preferences and dislikes.
• Sets up employee trays.
• Sets up, delivers and picks up residents’ room trays.
• Sets dining room tables for meals
• Vacuums dining room floor after each meal.
• Washes dishes and cleans equipment and areas after each use.
• Clears tables, cleans tables, and chairs after each use.
• Interacts positively with all residents at all times creating an atmosphere which promotes a homelike environment
• Maintains, cares for and safely uses supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently per Fairhaven policies and procedures
• Maintains sanitary conditions; follows infection control and waste management procedures as they relate to this position
• Reports incidents of abuse, neglect or a violation of the resident’s rights immediately

Working Conditions

• Kitchen and dining areas
• Exposed to steam, hot water, food and hot equipment
• Individual duties within a team environment
• Fairhaven approved uniform must be worn
• Typical health care facility exposure when working with the elderly resident including potential injury or infection.

Part time:

(15 - 20 hours per week) 4:30pm-8:00pm weekdays/weekends

Starting Pay:

$15.00 - $15:30 per hour

Note

Schedule must be flexible and open for weekend shifts.
