Job summary

Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center is seeking Wait Staff to support meal services and dining operations for residents and guests. The role requires teamwork, attention to dietary needs, and respectful interaction with residents in a faith-based environment.

The position involves serving meals, dishwashing, and light housekeeping in dining areas with a starting pay of $15.00–$15.45 per hour, full-time schedule, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Serve food to residents and guests in dining areas.
• Perform dishwashing and housekeeping in dining areas.
• Set up, deliver and pick up residents’ room trays.
• Set dining tables for meals and reset after service.
• Washes dishes and cleans equipment/areas after use.
• Clears tables and vacuums dining room floor after each shift.
• Maintain sanitary conditions and infection control per policy.
• Protect resident privacy in accordance with HIPAA.
• Report incidents of abuse or rights violations immediatly.

Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center is a retirement community committed to providing our residents and staff with the upmost dignity and respect. We are seeking Wait Staff to assist with our meal services. The ideal candidate loves working with older people and works well both independently and as a team player.

Primary Function: Responsible for serving food to residents and guests, dishwashing and housekeeping in dining areas.

Essential Functions:

• Understands the various therapeutic diets and applies this knowledge when serving.
• Sets up, delivers and picks up residents’ room trays.
• Sets dining room tables for meals
• Washes dishes and cleans equipment and areas after each use.
• Clears tables, cleans tables, and chairs, vacuums dining room floor after each use.
• Checks off and initials cleaning checklist at end of shift
• Safeguards privacy and confidentiality of all resident health care information which includes complying with all HIPAA regulations
• Interacts positively with all residents at all times creating an atmosphere which promotes a homelike environment
• Maintains, cares for and safely uses supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently per Fairhaven policies and procedures
• Maintains sanitary conditions; follows infection control and waste management procedures as they relate to this position
• Reports incidents of abuse, neglect or a violation of the resident’s rights immediately

Essential Qualifications & Requirements:

Type of work and characteristics of duties require:

• Physical condition allowing for normal kitchen duties including but not limited to; lifting (up to 30 pounds), bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grabbing, pushing, pulling, standing or walking an entire shift, use of arms and hands with dexterity, ability to read and understand directions.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly manner to residents and coworkers in English.
• Comfort in working in a Christian Retirement Center environment.

Schedule and Pay Information:

• Starting Pay: $15.00 -$15.45 per hour
• Hours: Full-time (6AM - 2PM) weekdays/weekends
• Note: Schedule must be flexible and open for weekend shifts.
