The University of Virginia School of Architecture seeks qualified applicants to fill Faculty Wage Lecturer or Visiting Faculty positions to teach and assist with the Summer Design Institute (SDI) courses in Summer 2026 (July 13, 2026 - August 7, 2026).

The SDI has been developed to give incoming students the methods, theories, and techniques to be successful in design studios, for landscape architects, architects, and urban planners.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Lead one section within the SDI courses (total of 3 credits).
• Teach ALAR 5010 Introduction to Design (1 credit).
• Teach ALAR 5020 Introduction to Visualization (1 credit).
• Teach ALAR 5030 Introduction to Design Theory + Analysis (1 credit).
