Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a process engineer to join the fab engineering group. You will develop and maintain world-class processes/equipment, drive yield enhancement, and solve complex problems across the fabrication line.

The role emphasizes SPC/data analysis, change management, and SOP updates, with a focus on continuous improvement in a cleanroom environment. Base salary ranges are provided and include comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Computer Science.
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
• Understanding of statistical methods.
• Experience with Change Point Management and Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
• Experience with Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc.).
• Experience with Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.).
• Ability to Troubleshoot Equipment or Process failure.
• Ability to wear clean room suit and PPE per SAS FAB protocol and lift <35 lbs as well as work in FAB environment.
• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the wafer fabrication process and respond to inline issues and dispositions of production wafers.
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinate scheduling of process qualifications and equipment downtime with manufacturing or equipment engineering.
• Use software to analyze data and identify trends to guide processing decisions.
• Make adjustments when process parameters are exceeded and monitor parameters after maintenance.
• Execute in-line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
• Communicate technical information within the department through presentations.
• Continuously revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Develop improved processes to increase capability.
