Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Photo Team. You will monitor wafer fabrication, qualify processes on new tools, and coordinate qualifications with manufacturing and equipment engineering.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, problem solving, and SOP improvements in a 24x7 FAB environment. Ideal candidates have advanced engineering degrees, strong scripting and data analysis skills, knowledge of Lean/5S, and experience with software like

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science (GPA 3.0+).
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent.
• Understanding of statistical methods and Change Point Management.
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
• Structured problem solving (8D, 7-step, etc.).
• Experience with data analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.).
• Ability to work in clean room environment and lift under 35 lbs; wear PPE; work in FAB environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication process and respond to inline issues.
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinate process qualifications and equipment downtime.
• Use software to analyze data and identify processing trends.
• Adjust parameters and monitor tools after maintenance.
• Execute in-line process/equipment changes (CPM).
• Communicate technical information within the department.
• Revise SOPs and develop improved processes to increase capability.
